A Books & Brews Event

Coming tomorrow: the first Books and Brews Appearance!
For the past six months, Michael Agnew, Minnesota’s first beer cicerone, and I have been hosting Books and Brews with Laura Vosika.
Books and Brews brings a stimulating blend of literature, life and craft beer. Laura and Michael meet with poets, novelists, and others in the world of books to delve into the stories that are written and the stories of those who write them. Sometimes there is even music in the mix. Beer provides the social bond.
Past discussions have centered on the healing power of writing, Russian literature and poetry, Irish literature and music, the impact of travel on writing, and more. Guests include poets, authors, and musicians who share their own work as well as their expertise on the people, places and ideas of literature in a larger context. In each program Michael indulges in unique beer pairings, selecting beers appropriate to the poems, novels, topics or locales being discussed.
Laura Vosika is a musician and mother, publisher, and author of the acclaimed Blue Bells Chronicles, a tale of time travel, mystery and miracles, romance and redemption.
Michael Agnew is Minnesota’s first Certified Cicerone®, the author of two books on craft brewing, a beer columnist, and owner of A Perfect Pint, a beer consulting company that does private and corporate beer tasting events and beer education.
Michael and I will talk about our radio program, Books and Brews with Laura Vosika, I will be doing some readings from my books, and Michael will talk about being a beer cicerone (Minnesota’s first!) and lead a beer tasting.
Blue Bells of Scotland starts the acclaimed Blue Bells Chronicles–a tale of time travel, mysteries and miracles, romance and redemption, ranging across modern and medieval Scotland.
Shawn Kleiner, the notoriously self-centered, drinking, gambling, womanizing musician, has it all–fame, fortune, and all the women he wants–until the night his girlfriend has enough and abandons him in a castle tower on their tour in Scotland.  He wakes up in the wrong century.
Join us for a fun afternoon!
